Family Vitamins

What is the most important place on earth?

Your Home!

What will make your home and family different from any other?

Love and Grace

John 13:34-35 The Message (MSG)  “Let me give you a new command: Love one another. In the same way I loved you, you love one another. This is how everyone will recognize that you are my disciples—when they see the love you have for each other.”

How does a Christian family show love and Grace to one another so others recognise something special and different about them?  There are plenty of ways, but one of them is in the Power of words!

Matt Gan and Voon Shan gave me a superb book for Christmas called “ The most important place on Earth” by Robert Wolgemuth.  It was easy to read and enlightening as it gave many simple and commonsensical ideas for building a Christian home.

One of the ideas is ‘The Family Vitamins’. These are vitamins you speak: potent phrases that make a difference to our family relationships. They are also honouring to one another and God. They are to be said in full not half chewed eg: love ya. The word potent means having great power, influence, or effect.

These words when said will have meaning and power in your child’s life, grandchild’s life,  friends life or spouses life.

Here they are:

Vitamin #1 “I love you”

Vitamin #2 “I need your love”

Vitamin #3 “I’m sorry I was wrong. Will you please forgive me?”

Vitamin #4 “May I help?”

Vitamin #5 “Thank You”

I will talk about one each week for the next few weeks.
