If you're new to Karori or just looking to develop new relationships with other parents or caregivers, Mainly Music is a wonderful way to do that - as well as being fun!
Mainly Music involves a 30 minute session of music, movement, rhymes and actions, Children (and parents or caregivers) are encouraged to enter fully into the actions and singing and the children are also invited to help the leaders out with actions or other special responsibilities. Every so often there is a theme day, for example gumboots, where children, parents and caregivers are given the opportunity to wear their brightly coloured gumboots and enjoy actions and singing related in some way to the theme (e.g. the weather).
Cost: $40.00 per term (per family) for ten sessions.
When: Tuesday 9.15am
Morning tea 9.45am
Where: The sessions are held in the Karori Baptist Church auditorium through the main entrance.

Mainly Music began in 1989 when two women involved in a music session at their local community centre in Auckland had a vision for designing a community programme which involved preschool children and their parents or caregivers in a session of music and movement. The vision became a reality in the establishment of Mainly Music.
